Council & BID FAQ
For councils and Business Improvement Districts — fees, launch, promotion and data.
How much is the council / BID monthly fee?
Streetify is free for the balance of each BID's current period, and free to borough councils until the end of 2026.
When will Streetify launch?
Streetify is already launched and working in every shopping street and mall in the UK, with all the stores, bars, restaurants and more loaded and functioning.
When is the best time for us to launch?
The early council adopters of Streetify will benefit from being seen as the most progressive and business-supportive.
Is there any benefit to waiting for other councils / BIDs to go first?
No. Waiting for other councils to go first has no benefit to you, and may lose you the opportunity to be seen as progressive and supportive of local businesses. Many local businesses in your area will be on the brink of closing, and you have the opportunity here to support them — time lost will mean closed stores and reduced business rates income for your treasury.
What will the annual fee level be, going forward?
No business can commit in advance to prices. However, our launch fee level aims to provide maximum value, little barrier to participation, and a fair return for our shareholders. There is no incentive for us to dramatically change pricing.
How will Streetify promote itself to consumers?
The businesses who join Streetify commit to promote the Streetify app alongside their deals and events to their own customers, via the normal media they use — social media, email, in-store announcements and so on. Where large numbers of local businesses communicate this way, residents in your area receive daily publicity across all media.
The council needs to play its part too. The contract between us requires you to promote Streetify every quarter to both local businesses and residents.
What if we fail to promote Streetify to businesses or residents?
Like most things, you only get out what you put in. By failing to maximise the benefits to your local businesses and residents — and where businesses close that could have been saved — you'll lose business rates income that will undoubtedly exceed Streetify's annual fee.
The substantial discount to local businesses is dependent on your continued membership of SPCM.
Who pays for Streetify marketing materials and media?
The council / BID is responsible for all local costs. Given the scale of the discount, this can be considered as part- or full funding by Streetify. It's the simplest way to administer it.
Is the Streetify project GDPR compliant?
We will not be provided with contact details for businesses or consumers by councils. Businesses that choose to enrol with Streetify do so directly with us, so there is no risk of a GDPR issue for the council. Streetify Ltd is registered for data compliance and uses industry-standard protection. See the Data section of our Terms & Conditions for more detail.
Who owns Streetify?
Streetify Ltd is a UK-based private limited company, principally owned by its management. The founder is the largest shareholder — his LinkedIn profile is linkedin.com/in/martin-banbury-80557525.
