Councils Frequently Asked Questions
-
Streetify is free for the first 3 smonth to Borough/ District/ City Councils, then £50k + VAT per year. However, in the first year we will discount that to motivate early sign-ups (the earlier you sign, the bigger the discount).
There are c.300 local authorities (excluding Counties) in the UK. It would be administratively impossible and deeply divisive if there were different prices for different districts. This means you can have confidence that you have been treated the same as any other council.
-
Streetify is already launched and working in every shopping street and mall in the UK, with all the stores/ bars/ restaurants/ etc. loaded and functioning.
-
The early council adopters of Streetify will benefit from being seen to be the most progressive and business supportive.
-
No. Waiting for other Councils to go first has no benefit to you, and may lose you the opportunity to be seen as progressive/ supportive of local businesses. Many local businesses in your area will be on the brink of closing, and you have the opportunity here to support them – time lost will mean closed stores and reduced business rates income for your Treasury.
-
No business can commit in advance to prices. However, our launch fee level aims to provide maximum value, little barrier to participation and a fair return for our shareholders. There is no incentive for us to dramatically change pricing.
-
The businesses who join Streetify commit to promote the Streetify App alongside their deals/ events to their own customers via the normal promotional media that they use, including social media, email, instore announcements etc. Where large numbers of local businesses communicate with their customers this way, residents in your area will be on the receiving end of daily publicity from all media.
The Council too needs to play its ipart. The contract between us requires you to promote Streetify every quarter to both local businesses and residents.
-
Like most things you will only get out what you put in – only be failing to maximise the benefits to your local businesses and residents, and where businesses close that could have been saved, you will lose business rates income that will undoubtedly exceed Streetify’s annual fee.
The substantial discount to local businesses is dependent on your continued membership of SPCM.
-
The Council is responsible for all local costs. Given the scale of discount, this can be considered as part/ full funding by Streetify. This is the simplest way to administrate this.
